Laura Von Stein is not ONLY classically trained, brilliantly inspired AND fearless comedian, she will do whatever it takes every time to work to get it right AND get paid in laughs! She is a comedians comedian, digs deeper than most and funnier than me.

LVS in the last 6 months has had more than anyone I know and that a human can endure. She lost her job of which she has been toxically loyal for 20 years, in an afternoon, worked right through the pandemic without work from home option, got Covid twice and ‘never bounced back’. Any health benefits also were phased out 5yrs ago and for 20yrs her pay was attached to her housing and her home, her neat as a pin apartment of 20yrs with her floor to ceiling books, piano and records. When she lost her job in November she was determined to get out of that apartment before they expected because she was done being scared. She SINGLE HANDEDLY gave away her 20 years of things, one by one and donated the rest to an org right there near her apt, I think they wanted her piano and a few other heavy things and took them across the street. She did this, all by herself and in less than 19 days before they even asked her and she knew what was next. There was nothing next. She lost her job, her home, never had health insurance and her former employer even over complicated and unemployment delayed her pitten stipend of unemployment insurance. (I always like to remind us all that it is an insurance we pay for to use if we are unemployed.). Remember this, she is still sick with ‘not bounced back from Covid/long term Covid’ and is uninsured, unemployed and it is as unfair as can be imagined.

Thank God for her forever friend and brother of the rainbow, Roger. He helped her get a tiny storage unit and let her move in and welcomed her with her most personal essential things into his home, his guest spot, his work from home office.

She has been going down hill since her move and November, after Christmas, she still wasn’t feeling well and/or ‘able to kick it’ and January had a 2 week bout of severe pain and sickness and went to ER and was admitted to Norwalk Hospital.

In her words from Feb 16, 2024 in a text to me after I checked in having a feeling and gut. This was a small percentage of her text that started with “Dear True Friend, I am sorry I didn’t tell you and was waiting to feel better to share…”

LVS: “Only kept going downhill since November. Abdominal pain just kept returning and getting worse. End of January I had a bout I couldn’t overcome which lasted 2 weeks. Since Saturday, been In Norwalk Hospital after being admitted through ER. (Finally getting proper healthcare )

High level: tumor in colon blocking bowel. Tumor was removed Tuesday. Went well. Crashed in recovery. Blood pressure dropped to a level where every doc in the area tried to help intervene. Went back into OR, Perforation had occurred, sepsis began, they took out more bowel and hooked me up to a colostomy bag. Woke up in ICU. Was there until yesterday this time, but back on regular floor now. 2nd blood transfusion last night.”

LVS was in the hospital for weeks and barely made it.

She just recently was transferred to a rehab in Ridgefield.

-She is scared, 98lbs, homeless and has Stage 3 colon cancer.

I convened a small group of comedians that she had on a list to get them up to speed at her request. I sent her that screen shot of us and she melted and felt the energy of that love, truly and the deal with me was that if you were on her list and we all met together, that you were now, in a small circle to only send her love and keep it going in texts and love and pure positive vibes, rather than talk ABOUT HER and bits and pieces passed down through barren words with no upside or benefits for LVS- deal was to now and only to talk too her, rather than about her. She can not have visitors at this time besides Roger, it is all too much.

BUT THEN WE REALIZED HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY LOVE HER AND WOULD WANT TO SUPPORT HER!

I have participated and contributed money to so, so many GoFundMe Campaigns and as an Auctioneer raised 19+million just in the last 4 years but THIS was and is my turn to start and fund one FOR LVS and I am asking YOU TO HELP with your money, so that she knows when she can be well enough to start treatment, she could think about living somewhere and starting all over again.

She has Stage 3 colon cancer, is homeless AND ready to live.

I took this today when we FaceTimed and I said “I want your social security number bc I want to set something up for you, I need it, you can trust me”.

She smiled and chuckled and I asked her what was funny?

LVS: “I forgot to tell you, they opened the doors here because it is so nice and they had 2 runaways, they were in their sock slippers trying to go up the hill, they got them back. I told them I was no trouble like them, but it was funny!!!”

I will be having a show for her, all donors will be on comp list and/or stage time and date will be announced.

Stand Up for LVS with me, please, I am really asking YOU because not only will be be able to show her what money can do, knowing there is enough for everyone (especially the ones who have money, who read to here. I think about just my Starbucks, streaming and Amazon returns, you too? :)
