Stand up for Gary "Bubba" Patino

I am the brother of Gary Patino and wanted to start this page for him and his family to do what I can to raise awareness of his urgent serious medical situation in which he is fighting for his life. This has put his family in a unique compromised position while doing so. 

Recently, Gary was inflicted with an internal invasive MRSA infection or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a type of bacteria that is resistant to several antibiotics. This infection has attacked his spinal cord that has left him in a paralyzed condition without little feeling in his lower half of his body.  His prognosis is he may not be able to walk again on his own possibly at all.  Also Gary's MRSA, is causing a serious infection in his bloodstream and potentially damaging his other organs. This is a life-threatening infection and more difficult to treat then external MRSA which typillacy is more common. 


Gary's family consists of his wife Doreen, his son Derek, and his daughter Kayla. Doreen not only has to deal with this new tragedy, but also attends to their son Derrick who is a special needs young man and immune compromised. Kayla is a recent graduate of Michigan State University and is working now as a rehabilitation counselor. Kayla has been pivotal in helping to overcome these challenges within the family with her love and education. 


Purpose for the funds will go to the urgent needs that will be needed along the way for Gary's recovery and a future wheelchair accessible van. These funds will be needed now to help support the family and Gary's recovery needs. Please share this page and tell potential donors how urgent this situation is.
