Stand Strong With Mary
Donation protected
This is the kind of passage you never want to write, but here goes everything. Those of you who are fortunate to know our mom, Mary Viesca, may or may not know the uphill battle she has been fighting for about a year. However, her strength has been unmatched. She has a heart of gold. Her love for God and all of her loved ones is what empowers her. She is kind, witty, and loving to all those around her. She is a mother, sister, Nana, and friend. Her courage, strength, and perseverance serve as great inspiration. She has positively impacted so many lives, and now it is time for us to rally around her in support of her continued battle!
Our mom was diagnosed Stage 4 Metastatic Bilateral Breast Cancer back in April 2022. This meant that she has two types of Breast Cancer. In summary, she has ER+ Breast Cancer in her left breast and Triple Negative Breast Cancer in her right. We also found out that the Triple Negative Breast Cancer had metastasized to her lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and other areas of her body. Due to the aggressive nature of this type of cancer, our mom will now be undergoing Chemotherapy indefinitely to prevent the cancer throughout her body from growing and spreading.
She is now on her third line of Chemo, as the first two didn't work well enough. When you are diagnosed and undergoing cancer treatment, you lose all sense of normalcy and control. Your entire world changes to be centered around treatment, scans, doctors, side effects, and medical terminology you never knew before. You’re given a crash course in the wreckage your world has transformed into. The life you once knew is gone, and now you have two choices in front of you. Our mom has chosen to fight. She chooses to wake up everyday determined to be around for her grandbabies. She fights for herself. She fights for us. She is focused on living life to the fullest and make the most of her time here.
Our mom has always had a heart for helping and supporting others. Now, she needs our help and support. Any money donated will go directly to medical expenses, treatment not covered by insurance, medications, and treatment of the chemotherapy side effects.
Asking for help is not an easy or light thing to do. Opening up about what our family has been quietly going through is even harder. From her three daughters, we thank you for your donations, prayers, well wishes, support, and positive thoughts as we join together to support her in the fight of her life!
