Hi everyone,

I never thought I would be here writing this, but my sweet French Bulldog Harley is at the vets for emergency spine surgery to have a chance at walking again and living without pain.

Just a few days ago, Harley was happily playing with his brother when he suddenly began struggling to walk. Within an hour, his back legs became so weak that he couldn’t use them at all. He was dragging them along the floor unable to move properly. We rushed him to the vets where he was given medication, but sadly it made no difference.

At the time, we were on holiday in Egypt. The moment we got the call about Harley’s condition, we booked the first flight home to be with him. Knowing he was in so much pain and we wasn’t with him was unbearable. Now we are home and we are getting him the urgent help he needs.

After seeing our vet for a second time we received the devastating news: Harley has a slipped disc in his spine that requires emergency surgery. Without this, he could lose the ability to walk forever, His pain is unbearable, and he is being heavily medicated just to stay calm and comfortable. We moved him to a specialist in Hampshire and the MRI confirmed not 1 but 3 slipped discs!

Harley is so much more than a pet. He is family. He is our constant source of joy, always playing and cuddling with his brother, waiting patiently with my husband every morning for breakfast, and making everyone smile with his happy, loving nature.

We’ve already paid £4,000 towards Harley’s care, but the total cost of his surgery and follow-up treatment is far beyond what we can manage alone. It breaks our hearts to see him suffering like this, but we know that with the right treatment he has a real chance to heal, walk, and run around being his playful self again.

UPDATE - Harley has undergone his surgery, all went well and we are waiting for him to come around again. Once he has he will have 3 days in the vets before we can pick him up and bring him home.

Harley wouldn’t be in the place he is now without our amazing friends & family.
