Stand by Ward Shaw in His Time of Need

Donation protected
Update 9/29: It is with the heaviest hearts that we share that Ward passed away peacefully on 9/28 at 7:03pm, surrounded by his family and friends. Ward brought joy, laughter, and love to so many, and his presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

While his fight has ended, the need for support remains. We will be keeping this GoFundMe active to help cover funeral expenses and to provide support for Alex, Anthony and Johnathan as they grieve and take time off work during this incredibly difficult time.

Every donation, share, and kind message continues to make a difference for our family. Thank you for standing by Ward and his loved ones with such compassion.

9/28
If you know Ward Shaw, you know he is everyone’s friend. He is the guy who makes people laugh, makes you feel welcome, and always shows up for the people he cares about. Right now, Ward needs us to show up for him.

Ward was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is in critical condition. He is fighting hard and taking things one step at a time.

This health crisis has created a heavy financial strain. Alex has been taking time off work to be with Ward in the hospital. When Alex cannot be there, he pays for caregivers to sit with Ward so that Ward is never alone. Between lost wages, caregiving costs, and everyday bills, it has become overwhelming.

Ward and Alex are also parents to Anthony and Johnathan, who love their dad deeply. They are doing what they can to support him through this fight, stepping in to help with caregiving and bringing strength to their family during this difficult time.

We are asking for help to lift some of that burden. Your donation will go directly toward:
Caregivers to support Ward when Alex cannot be there
•Lost income from Alex’s time away from work
•Medical-related costs not covered by insurance
•Household needs like rent, utilities, meals, and transportation
•Post-hospital care as Ward works toward recovery

If you can give, thank you. If giving is not possible right now, sharing this page is another powerful way to help. Every contribution and every message reminds Ward and Alex that they are not alone.

Ward is the kind of person who has lifted so many people up over the years. Let’s do the same for him now. With love, community, and support, we believe in his recovery one step at a time.
