Wally is the light of our lives. He has made our lives infinitely better. Lighter. Happier. He is the best big brother to his little sister Opal. He has nothing but love to give. The past 24 hours have felt like a blur, and I can't even begin to describe how we are feeling.
Yesterday, August 18th, I was playing outside with Wally and threw his favorite rubber ball across the yard. As he ran to get it, he started yowling the loudest I've ever heard him yowl in IMMENSE pain. His legs were dragging behind him, and I was scrambling to figure out what happened as I held on to him. We immediately took him to the emergency vet where we were told he has partial paralysis in his back legs. He can move them, but he isn't able to stand on his own. Our little bubba is staying in the hospital as we await a MRI and surgery.
Unfortunately, the cost we have to front for this is just too much. I was laid off from my job and we have been grappling with the news of a close family member dealing with a life threatening illness, as well as me having to face my own surgery in October. We need help. Desperately. We don't know where else to turn, but we can't let Wally suffer. We can't let him be paralyzed when his LIFE is walks, chasing balls, and playing with his sister. Anything helps, and we would be forever in debt to anyone who can help us get Wally the help he deserves. </3
