Stand by Us: Terminal Cancer Roy Brock

Please consider donating to my brother-in-law’s fight against cancer. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma diagnosed November 2022, terminal. He had a large tumor removed on Jan 2, 2023, which took a third of his liver. He has had six tumors frozen and killed by cryoablation. He will have to have chemo for the rest of his life.

The Dr took him off the stivarga chemo pills today 5/15 it’s not working on the cancer, his blood pressure should start coming down , The Cancer continues to grow got a few more chemo regimen’s he can try. We are gonna start the gemzar infusions when we get back on the 28th . It’s one he has taken before . Can keep trying different things to stop the growth as long as Roy can handle it. When Roy decides to stop then they will stop . His liver numbers on blood tests are tiny bit elevated but not bad at all. Dr is pleased with them.

Zach’s dad Roy has been battling this disease with his whole heart and all his might and he’s already won by having more time than anyone thought he would. Our chats are filled with “how is chemo making you feel this week?” and even though that sucks; I’m also thankful to have someone who understands and will listen to me vent about nasty things like constipation and mouth sores. Yeah, I said it. Chemo is icky and cancer is ugly, but it can’t squash hope and it hasn’t squashed Roy’s spirit. We’re so thankful for all the days and moments with Papa!
