Tom Garman, a friend to many, is facing the greatest battle of his life. At age 58, Tom has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
For those who know him, Tom is an extraordinary man with a brilliant sense of humor and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He’s a remarkable soul who means so much to so many—as a family member, friend, teacher, musician, colleague, boyfriend, volunteer, and pet owner. He’s always put others first, never hesitating to give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.
In April, Tom underwent two extremely painful surgeries to remove a tumor, 38 lymph nodes, and his tonsils. Thankfully, both surgeries were considered successful. Despite trying alternative treatments, he must now begin six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation—his most intense battle yet. Following this, Tom will need an additional three to four months to recover from these difficult treatments.
Tom will be unable to work during this time and hopes to return around the holiday season. He is employed at Wonder Windows, a company that has been wonderfully understanding of his situation. However, being off work for so long creates a major financial strain. Tom works solely on commission and is currently missing the busy season that sustains his daily needs. Now more than ever, he needs our love and support.
Tom is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. He’s welcomed friends and family into his home when they had nowhere else to go, offered free lessons to those in financial need, and freely shared his vast knowledge of martial arts, guitar, mechanics, and more—always with humility and without expecting anything in return.
Now it’s our turn to give back. Let’s support Tom through these darkest moments as he fights cancer. Every contribution—big or small—will be deeply appreciated. Let’s surround him with love and help ease his burden so he can focus on healing and recovery. Please, spread the word and share this message with everyone you can.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
