As many of you know, Todd and I are not the type of people to ask for help. With that being said, this is very hard to do.
Our beautiful, strong, feisty, amazing baby girl was transferred down to CHOP early Tuesday morning, 5/6/2025, after being diagnosed with a Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). At one day old, she underwent major surgery to repair this defect. She will be spending a minimum of a month at CHOP under their amazing care to get back to her feisty self and get back to taking over the world. She is the most resilient baby I have ever laid my eyes on.
While surgery was being done, she was diagnosed with Type C TEF, which is the most common type of TEF, occurring in about 85% of cases. To explain what this means, where her upper esophagus ended, it ended in a blind pouch and her lower esophagus connected to her trachea.
I will be staying down here in Philly to be by her side as much as I possibly can. Todd, unfortunately, will have to return to work on 5/15/2025. He will be coming down on the two days that he has off to spend time with us.
As of right now, we have been staying in a hotel because there is no room in the Ronald McDonald House.
I am setting up this GoFundMe in case anyone wants to help out. The money will go towards us being able to stay here since we are paying out of pocket, meals and gas for traveling back and forth, and just other things we might need while navigating this difficult time. Also, once this is over, anything left will go towards whatever medical bills we receive as we know this is going to be something that we will have in the end.
Again, NOTHING is expected, but there have been a lot of people asking how they can help, and with this, it may take some of the financial stress off of us a little so we can focus more on our daughter.
Please keep our beautiful baby girl in your thoughts and prayers as she still has a long fight ahead of her!
One minute, One hour, One day
