Help the Marler Family Fight Cancer: Your Support Means Everything

Dear Vegas Softball Community, Friends, and Family,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for one of our own—the Marler Family—as they face a challenging cancer journey. As part of the Lil Rebel RC/Ball organization, we know the strength of our close-knit community, and right now, the Marlers need us more than ever.

Here’s where their story begins:

The Marlers recently met with a doctor in California who provided some clarity and hope. This doctor was not only highly knowledgeable but also took the time to answer all their questions and address their concerns, offering a bit of relief during this overwhelming time. The good news? Their loved one will be scheduled for surgery within the next month to remove the cancer.

Though the cancer is considered stage 2, due to it being a “returning” cancer, it was detected at an early stage, thanks to regular checkups starting back in 2020. This is a huge blessing—early detection gives a much better chance for successful treatment, and the Marlers are deeply grateful for that.

That said, there’s still a long road ahead. They are hopeful that after surgery, he won’t need chemotherapy—about 90% of people in this situation don’t. But, as with any cancer journey, there’s always the uncertainty of how things might unfold. Sadly, he’s part of the 10% who have experienced a recurrence, so they’re asking for your prayers and support to help him beat this cancer once and for all, and hopefully avoid further treatments.

Here’s how we can help:

After surgery, the Marlers will need to stay in California for about a week—one day at the hospital and the rest of the week in a hotel nearby as he recovers. Once they return home, he’ll need additional time off work, anywhere from one to two weeks, depending on how things go.

We’re reaching out to the Vegas softball community, family, friends, and supporters to help cover medical expenses, travel costs, and lost wages. Any donation—big or small—will ease their financial burden, allowing the Marlers to focus on healing without the added stress of mounting bills.
