Stand By The Lawrence Family

Hey, Thanks for stopping by! We are the Lawrence Family.

PLEASE SEE OUR LATEST CAMPAIGN UPDATE TO SEE WHATS BEEN GOING ON! WE ARE NO LONGER RAISING MONEY.

Who We Are:
We’ve spent the last 13 years on the mission field in Central America. During our time there we shared the good news of Jesus with those who needed it most. We planted churches, fed the poor, ministered to children, provided marriage and family counseling, helped addicts, made disciples and launched many community-wide outreaches.

In November of 2017, we felt it was time to return to the United States. We gave away almost all our belongings to those who needed it most. The rest we packed into suitcases and took a leap of faith.

What Has Happened To Us:
Upon returning, the unthinkable happened. My wife Revae, mother of 5, suffered a ruptured aneurysm. Being here in the United States saved her life! We were 2 hours from the hospital in Costa Rica. We praise God for His timing in bringing us back to the US!

She spent 7 days in ICU, 5 incubated. While she was in the hospital they performed an exploratory surgery, cutting her open from her sternum to her pelvis. They also had to replace her entire body’s volume of blood 3 times over, meaning when she came out of surgery she didn’t have a single blood cell of her own in her body. These two things were the cause of her extensive recovery.

After 9 days In the hospital, she was released to return home. That is when the hard work of recovery began. For the first 2 months, she couldn’t stand and walk on her own. I (Mike) have been her sole caretaker during her time of recovery. In addition to that, I had our 5 children to care for, including our 7-month-old son.

As a result, almost everything in our life was put on hold. There was no time or opportunity to get established and start living in a new country. On top of that, most of our missions support was stopped. We incurred debt for living expenses, moving expenses, and medical expenses. The bills added up quickly.

Revae has had 2 more operations since her trip to the ICU. They have found and repaired 11 aneurisms in total! Today she is functioning at a normal level and is almost fully recovered. However, we still have not been able to get fully established and make this place our home again.

When we prepared to leave the mission field God told us to “finish well”. Since returning home, many other missionaries have told us that the church forgets its missionaries once they return. We don‘t believe it has to be this way. We are asking you to help us “finish well” by standing beside us until our transition back to life in the US is complete.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity towards our family! We could not make this transition successfully without you!

Love,
Mike, Revae, and the kids!
