********** ANOTHER UPDATE******************
Life continues to challenge our dear friend Debbie Winger’s daughter, Stephanie Winger, in ways no one should ever have to endure. After being diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer while pregnant last April, Stephanie bravely underwent chemotherapy to protect both herself and her unborn child. Since then, her journey has been marked by delays in treatment, complications after childbirth, and severe side effects.
Unfortunately, her cancer has metastasized, and no further conventional treatments are available. Stephanie qualified for a clinical trial and began treatment three weeks ago, but it has taken a hard toll on her body. She has been hospitalized since December 14, spending part of that time in the ICU. Stephanie is now battling a lung infection and requires oxygen, which will prolong her hospital stay, all during the holiday season.
Her mental state is understandably low. She didn’t see her darling baby girl until yesterday, and that precious moment finally brought a smile to her face. It does not appear that Stephanie will be able to return to work anytime soon, and her disability benefits are in limbo. The State of California has a one-year lifetime maximum benefit for cancer illness claims, leaving her without financial support during this critical time.
How to pay her bills should be the last thing on her mind. If you are able to help our dear friend during this awful time, it is deeply appreciated. Additionally, please keep Stephanie in your prayers and hope for a miracle. We all love her and need her in our lives, especially her daughter and family.
Thank you for your continued support during this trying time. Your generosity and compassion mean more than words can express.
