Life has a way of testing the strongest among us, and my dear friend Sherrie is proof of just how resilient one person can be. A devoted single mom and a hardworking small business owner, Sherrie has faced unimaginable challenges over the past two years in her battle with breast cancer. Now, after enduring chemo, radiation, multiple surgeries, and a hysterectomy, she is in urgent need of emergency surgery due to severe complications from her treatment.

Sherrie was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer with lymph node involvement in June 2022. Determined to fight, she went through aggressive chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy and 28 rounds of radiation. In March 2023, she had a hysterectomy due to her cancer being hormone-positive. Every step of this journey has been grueling, but through it all, she kept pushing forward with strength and grace.

Despite complications after reconstructive surgery—including an infection that led to hospitalization—Sherrie remained hopeful. She was finally beginning to feel like herself again, finding joy in riding her bike and practicing yoga. But just when she thought she was on the road to recovery, life threw another devastating challenge her way.

Just days ago, Sherrie noticed pain in her chest and, to her horror, discovered that her body was rejecting her implant due to the damage from radiation. A hole had formed, and her surgeon confirmed that she now requires emergency surgery to remove the implant before the situation worsens.

As a single mom running her own business, Sherrie has worked tirelessly to provide for her family despite her health battles. But the medical costs have been overwhelming, and this unexpected surgery is an expense she simply cannot afford on her own. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
