I live in Plainfield, VT and witnessed the devastation of the 2023 and 2024 July floods. Our town employees were and are essential to our recovery. Unfortunately, one of our road crew members, Shawn Codling, age 33, was hit by a car while working on East Hill Road six days after the flood. Shawn and his wife had just had a baby girl. Shawn was severely injured and had to go on workman's compensation due to spinal fractures from which he continues to suffer. After having to take time off from work for a number of months, he experienced severe financial set backs which resulted in his vehicles, which he used to make extra income, being repossessed. His wife's return to work caused additional stress on this young family. Shawn faces possible surgery, and continuing pain. At the very least, he needs to buy a vehicle so that he can get to work, transport his baby to daycare, and relieve some of the pressure on his wife. Please help us raise funds for him towards a new vehicle and his family's other expenses.
