Stand by Shai: Conquer Cancer Together

My name is Ownika. I've created this page in support of one of my best friends, Lashaia Webster-Grayes.

Those who know her are aware that she is very strong-willed, so much so that she holds her burdens alone and wants to do things on her own. I have stressed to her that sometimes we have to humble ourselves and attempt to relinquish some of the burden and ask for help.

Because I am her friend, I will humble MYSELF to ask for help on her behalf.

Lashaia, aka Shai, my dear friend, has cancer. She survived it once back in 2015 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent 4 surgeries, 8 rounds of chemo, and 30 radiation treatments and beat the cancer. She's a survivor!

In October 2023, Lashaia was diagnosed with cancer again, this time stage 4 bone cancer. Treatment included 10 rounds of radiation and chemo pills, which will need to be taken for the remainder of her life.

As you may imagine, having cancer not once but twice can take its toll on one emotionally, physically, and financially. The medication and doctor's visits have depleted her savings. Living expenses have become an ongoing challenge.

As Shai moves along her journey to fight and beat this cancer,
