Hi everyone,

My name is Brittany and I started this go fund me for my mom Sandra or a lot of you might know her as “pooka.”

At the beginning of June she went in for an appointment because she was having some pains - upon further testing and an overnight hospital stay she learned that she had masses on her liver and was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Jump forward to July 9th, we went to UVM for a biopsy on her liver. About a week later she received the call that is was cancerous and has spread from her colon to her liver.

Jump ahead again to last Wednesday the 23rd, we went to an appt at CVMC with a specialist where we received her official diagnosis and next steps.

My mom has stage 4 colon cancer that has spread so far to her liver. Because it was not caught when she first went to the doctors back in November 2024 she cannot have surgery and is terminal.

Since this appt we have had multiple others as well as more scheduled. She will have her port procedure done on August 5th and will go back on August 11th for her first round of Chemo.

My mom is currently working fulltime and we are unsure how the chemotherapy will effect her and her ability to work, and she is currently only weighing 90 pounds which will also play a role in how she responds to the chemo as well.

My mom has many friends and family as well as many people that know her. My hope is that people can share this and/or donate on her behalf so that if she needs to miss time from work or eventually stop working she can do so and still be able to live out her time with a little less to worry about.

As of now (we will know more in a few weeks) my mom has 2-4 years left with us depending on how she responds to the chemo and if the masses on her liver shrink.
