Stand by Sal: Aid for His Healing
Donation protected
On Sunday morning around 4 a.m., our friend Sal was on his way home from Chino Airport after spending several hours working on his Kitfox in his hangar. He was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver on a narrow stretch of road. Sal suffered two broken arms, broken legs, a broken finger, a broken kneecap, internal injuries, and spent a collective 15 hours in surgery over the course of his first two days in the hospital.
The medical expenses are expected to be astronomical.
It is not known for certain when he will be discharged from the hospital. Sal also is now unable to work for the duration of time he needs to heal. Home expenses, business expenses, physical therapy, and other medical expenses are quickly piling up. He will need full-time help at home after he is released, until he has healed.
Sal is a generous and kind person. He is someone who gives his spare time and energy freely. He is quick to offer help wherever he can and is a loyal friend. He is an active member of the aviation community and has offered labor and knowledge to countless other aviators. This accident, the result of the irresponsible act of the wrong-way driver, has left him needing to ask for help. If you are able, please consider donating any amount to help Sal get through these coming months as he heals.
