Stand By Russell in His Battle with Cancer

My brother, Russell McDaniel, has stage 4 prostate cancer. He’s been fiercely fighting it since 2019, but a few months ago, it got to the point he can no longer work. He owned and operated several businesses with his wife, Stephanie, for many years. Because of his treatments and various surgeries, Stephanie has to be with him around the clock, so she has been unable to work and keep their business open. Their kids are doing the best they can to keep it floating but it doesn’t pay any of their bills.

To say it’s been a difficult past several months doesn’t begin to describe what they’re dealing with every day. Russell has been in and out of the hospital, going to Dallas for more treatment, fighting with the insurance company for every prescription refill, all while in constant pain, unable to breathe from the fluid on his lungs, and nearly blind in one eye. Stephanie has not missed a single step. She tends to Russell day and night and doesn’t complain.

With both of them unable to work, they have no income. It’s a worry they don’t need.

Russell is the son of Melba Baxter, retired Atty in Longview. His wife Stephanie is the daughter of Rhonda Brown of Kilgore.
