Hi, I’m Emilie! Ron De Lorez’s eldest son’s girlfriend , and the De Lorez family has lovingly welcomed me as one of their own. I’m setting up this page to support them as Ron bravely battles cancer.
Ron has a way of lighting up every room he enters, bringing warmth and laughter to every moment. He is a loving husband to his wife, Catherine, the rock for his three kids, Romeo, Aysia, and Isaiah, and the hardest-working person you could ever meet—devoted, determined, and always ready to put others first. A true family man, Ron has coached his sons’ basketball team and is a friend to many, always ready with a listening ear or a helping hand. He’s also a man of deep faith, leaning on God now more than ever as he faces the hardest challenge of his life.
At 53 years old, Ron was diagnosed on July 1st, 2025, with emphysema and extensive small-cell carcinoma in his lungs—a rare and one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. His treatment plan will be intense, spanning the next year with chemotherapy, and possible radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. But in true Ron fashion, he’s facing it head-on with courage, resilience, and an unwavering belief that he can overcome this fight.
Even as he begins this fight, Ron plans to keep working as long as he can to provide for his family. But with the intensity of his treatment, it’s predicted that this will be a challenge for him to continue working, leaving his family to rely on a single income. All three of Ron and Catherine’s children—Romeo, Aysia, and Isaiah—are still in school, and while love, faith, and strength run deep in their family, the reality is that this diagnosis brings an avalanche of expenses: the monthly cost of rent, costly medical bills, and the many unexpected needs that will arise along the way. The stress of possibly losing their home is an added weight during an already overwhelming time. A secure, stable place to call home is essential for Ron as he undergoes chemotherapy, and possibly radiation, and immunotherapy—a safe space where he can rest, recover, and focus entirely on healing.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden, allowing Ron to focus fully on his health and recovery. His wonderful wife, Catherine, will be by his side every step of the way, and together with their children, they will lean on the love and support of their community to get through this challenging year.
Let’s surround Ron and his family with love, prayer, and tangible support as he walks this difficult road. Ron has given so much of himself to his family, his friends, and his community. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Every single dollar donated will help ease the financial burden of treatment, allowing Ron and his family to focus on what truly matters: his healing and their time together. Whether it’s $1 or $1,000, every gift makes a difference.
We will continue to post updates and messages from Ron as his treatments progress. In the meantime, a quick note of humor, a fun memory, or even a few words of encouragement for him would be awesome!
If you are able, kindly donate and spread the word about this campaign to anyone who might want to support Ron in this battle.
