Hello,
This is Romeo, a 38-year-old young man who has been misdiagnosed for the past 10 years, causing his current debility. Romeo suffers from a rare autoimmune disease known as NMO (Neuromyelitis Optica), which has caused paralysis. He is in desperate need of treatment to prevent relapse and further damage to his vision and minimize the risk of permanent damage. He spent every penny over the past decade on testing, various work-ups, and treatment that failed due to incorrect diagnosis. He is finally diagnosed appropriately but unable to afford his ongoing treatment, which includes immunosuppressants, plasmapheresis, and a long rehab journey of physical and occupational therapy. Romeo has big hopes to regain some motor function and be able to stand on his feet again if given appropriate and timely treatment. Each of his therapy sessions will cost 200 dollars out of pocket, and he needs 2-3 treatments weekly for several months.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and consideration!
