Roberta Rantala had a brain bleed on February 21, 2025, and was taken by ambulance to Ironwood Aspirus Hospital and airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. Roberta was taken into surgery the morning of February 22, 2025, to repair the brain bleed and was found to have a brain aneurysm. Roberta was taken back into surgery the next day, and they coiled the aneurysm. She was in a medically induced coma and also had to be placed on a ventilator. Roberta was taken into surgery 2 more times to put a port in her head, and she also had to start kidney dialysis, so they put a port in for that. Roberta's insurance company has stated they will not cover her dialysis, but right now the struggle is finding an affordable place to stay so family members can stay with her. There is no Ronald McDonald House or Beacon House like we have in Marquette to help families with the expense of rooms or food.

Today, Roberta opened her eyes for a few minutes and has started to breathe without the ventilator. We are asking for all the prayers to continue; they are working. This will be a long haul months, and anything you could do financially to help would be greatly appreciated.
