Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I am reaching out to share the story of my beloved cousin, Rhoda Francis, a former member of a pediatric nursing team for roughly two decades, Rhoda dedicated her life to caring for children in need, providing comfort and support to countless families. She is a true embodiment of compassion and strength, always putting others before herself.

In 2019, Rhoda faced an unimaginable challenge when she sustained a debilitating lumbar spine injury while caring for a patient. Even with her injury and all the subsequent other medical problems that followed she continues to care for her now 26-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. Despite his high functionality, he requires significant support and attention, and Rhoda has always been his fiercest advocate and loving caregiver.

Recently, life has thrown another hurdle in Rhoda's path. This past Friday, she suffered a seizure and a heart attack. Although she has been discharged from the hospital, the toll on her health and well-being has been immense. The medical bills from her recent hospitalization are overwhelming, adding to the already significant financial burden she faces. Rhoda and her son are currently stuck out of the country because of the procedure that was performed on her heart.

We are reaching out to you, our community, during this desperate time. Your support can make a difference in Rhoda’s life as she navigates through these challenges. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain of her medical expenses and allow her to focus on her recovery and the care of her son.
