My name is Chriss, and for the past 16 years, Reno has been my rock. Reno has been feeling like shit the past couple of months. In September, he was in severe pain and asked me to take him to the emergency room. I did. They did a chest X-ray and told him he had a pulled muscle. Fast forward to Tuesday. I got him an appointment with the nurse practitioner that I see at our doctor's office, told her what’s been going on…pain, night sweats, losing 15 pounds in a month…she ran blood work on him. Tuesday night, our doctor called us and told us we needed to be at his office at 8 am when they opened. We got there at 8 am, the doc took us into his office and told us that Reno’s white blood cells are critically high, and he more than likely has leukemia. He called the oncologist's office, and they got us in right away, where they confirmed that he does have leukemia, but don’t know what kind, or a treatment plan until they get the results from a bone marrow biopsy, which was done last Thursday. Judging from his labs, we believe it is acute myeloid leukemia. The oncologist told us if he wouldn’t have gotten into the doctor, he would not have made it to Christmas I will update people when I know more information. Reno is in good spirits; me, I’m a mess. It really hurts watching him get weaker by the day. He is the best man and an incredible tattoo artist. He is also the best papa, to our grand girls that love him so much. I am off work as well, so I can stay by Reno’s side, so he never feels alone during this. Please share this far and wide. I know the holidays are coming up, and times are tough, but we really need the support, and really can’t deal with financial hardship on top of this horrible diagnosis. We will appreciate every penny.
