6/25/25 UPDATE! Renee is home!!! She arrived home this afternoon to her own pillow and blankies! Isn't it sometimes the small things that make a difference? She will have a follow-up appointment in a week with the oncologist to outline the next steps. Her kidneys levels (creatinine) are still 5x normal but she is urinating and there is hope the kidney levels will continue to drop but the next few weeks will tell. Please send her words of encouragement and strength as this battle has already been harder than expected. If you can donate I know she is appreciative but support and connection are even more important.
6/23/25 UPDATE! Renee is still in the hospital. Her kidney function gives hints of improving so dialysis is delayed but then the labs haven't improved and now the doctors are unsure if dialysis will be a part of the future. There is concern that she may have an infection in the surgical site so she is on antibiotics. She had an MRI and there is no abscess so the antibiotics should take care of the superficial infection. She is struggling as she expected to be home a week ago and the frustration of waiting and wondering what is going to happen is getting to her. If you want to uber eats/send flowers a treat to her reach out to me and I will give you the info.
6/14/25 UPDATE! Well the kidneys are still a problem. Another blood draw and level this evening but unless there is a big improvement she will likely have dialysis tomorrow. The best new is there is still a hope that this is just temporary. However she has been moved to the main hospital and expects to be inpatient a few more days. Her surgical scar is doing great and we are hoping her appetite and intake improve. Still no word on the node biopsy.

6/13/25 UPDATE! Renee reports she is not having much pain and is feeling great, Bur her kidneys are still slow to kick in. The docs have decided to keep her a few days until her kidney function is back to normal. No update on node biopsy. Chemo will start next month.
6/12/25 UPDATE! Renee will be spending another night in the hospital. Her blood pressure has been low so the docs stopped her blood pressure medicine and are giving fluids but they don't feel it is anything serious and expect discharge home tomorrow.
She did have 3 concerning lymph nodes that they biopsied and are awaiting results from that. If they are positive it will change the plan of care. If you are a praying soul please say prayers these nodes are negative. If you are a spiritual soul send good energy her way. Hopefully those answers will here by Monday. Her cousin Darlene has been staying with her in the hospital and that has given Renee comfort.
6/11/25 UPDATE! Renee is still in surgery. Her breasts have been removed and they are stitching her up. She has done well. Will update again later today. She will be staying overnight.
6/10/25 UPDATE! Renee had node mapping today and is scheduled for bilateral mastectomy tomorrow at 6 am. I will update here when she is out of recovery and headed home. It still amazes me that this is an outpatient procedure. Since I doubt she will sleep much tonight if you will txt her words of support and love I know she will not feel so alone and anxious. Thank you everyone who has supported her with kind words, donations and help up to her surgery date. Tomorrow is the first big step toward recovery and being cancer free.
Our dear Renee, was recently diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. This news has turned her world—and ours—upside down. While she's showing incredible strength and courage, the journey ahead is physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming.
Why We're Asking for Help
Renee will be undergoing surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation, which has required her to take a leave from work. The costs of treatment, medications, travel to appointments, and basic living expenses are adding up quickly. As you can imagine, this is a heavy burden to carry during such a challenging time.
We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease that burden so Renee can focus on what matters most: healing and staying strong.
How the Funds Will Be Used
All donations will go directly toward:
Medical bills and treatment costs
Prescription medications
Transportation to and from appointments
Everyday expenses (rent, groceries, utilities)
How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to lifting this weight off Renee’s shoulders. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us.
Let’s come together and support Renee as she fights breast cancer with grace, determination, and hope. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
