Stand by Rena: Overcome Life's Challenges

Rena Murray is our dog sitter and now close friend through collaborating with her on a journey to rebuild her life. She lost her "Mother," Margaret, after 20 years of living together and needs our assistance.

Rena has cerebal palsy with physical limitations, including the inability to drive. While living with Margaret, she was able to manage her pet sitting/dog training business at home. Once Margaret became ill, Rena took over as her caregiver and continued her business as best she could.

Margaret Hampton entrusted a friend/colleague, for whom she was writing a manual on military sexual trauma, to manage the proceeds from the sale of her home upon her death. The agreement was to provide Rena with any remaining funds after he paid himself back the private loan on her home in order for Rena to be able to have sufficient funds to purchase a home of her own.

However, instead, she is now being evicted from the home that he moved her to, which she willing went in order for him to sell their home in Citrus Hills and expedite the return of his loan. He received all of the money he loaned to Margaret for cancer treatment upon the sale of the Citrus Hills home. However, he never provided the full amount of the remaining proceeds of $183,000 to Rena as promised.

Thankfully, Rena has had a pro bono real estate attorney that stopped the initial eviction and allowed her to remain in the current home (which she believed to be hers, since he was holding her $183k) until the case could be heard. Unfortunately, the Judge Carol Falvey in Citrus County case #2025-CA-000042, ruled in favor of the eviction of Rena. She has 2 weeks notice to leave and the monetary dispute (Rena's inheritance claim) will have another hearing.

If anyone knows an attorney willing to work pro bono and take over the case and make an appeal, that would be wonderful.

In the meantime and in the event that she has no support to appeal in an attempt to gain ownership of her home in exchange for the funds owed her or receive any of the funds that Margaret intended for her benefit, we are looking to assist her with living expenses until she is able to re-establish herself.

Any resource that one can offer would be greatly appreciated e.g. legal advice, IT services, business coach, referral to suitable rental, pet sitting, pet grooming, cleaning job, general advice/ideas, etc.

Rena is a certified animal behaviorist with experience in assisting with troubled animals as well as helping to determine safety risk. Please check out her website herodogs.net, should you be aware of any need for her services.

Thank you for your consideration,
