RAY ALLNUTT is known to many as a master craftsman. He is often called "Ranal" due to a never ending need to put things in perfect order. Ray grew up in New Smyrna Beach and held a variety of construction jobs. For 15 years of his work life, Ray found his niche! He absolutely loved working with Habitat for Humanity. Ray was always working hard - many will remember him single handedly decking a roof when a sub didn't show as scheduled.
His favorite thing was to hand over the keys to a new homeowner and help to make their dream a reality. Ray LOVED working with "the Fellas" - the volunteers that made home building possible.
Ray is now facing the most difficult challenge of his life. He is battling esophageal cancer and the aftermath of several radical surgeries. He has been in intensive care for 43+ days with no definite end in sight. Due to his self-employment, Ray has been out of work, and pay, for months. Making ends meet is impossible at this time. So the family worries about all the necessities of life, including shelter, food, and utilities. This worry is additional stress that further aggravates his recovery.
If you can see it in your heart to help, anything would be greatly appreciated. He has made a real positive difference in many lives. Now, lets do it for him!
