I am seeking to raise money for two friends, Ralph and Sue Frederickson, who are in desperate need of assistance. Ralph is a military veteran who served multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam War as a seaman with the Navy, an Army private, and also with the US Merchant Marine. After his service, he married Sue, and they currently reside in Lisle, Illinois. Ralph later worked as a school bus driver and later as a Special Needs bus aide. Sue also worked as a special ed driver. For the past several years, Ralph's health has deteriorated, and he has been on a regimen of 3/week dialysis even while continuing to work as a SPED school bus aide.
Recently, Ralph fell and fractured his hip and entered Edward Hospital for hip surgery. Upon his release, he was admitted to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital prior to being released to his home, where Sue provided his care. The day after returning home, Ralph fell again and reinjured his hip. He was readmitted to Edward Hospital, and additional surgery to repair the hip was needed. Currently, Ralph is admitted to Thrive Rehab Center, hoping to be transferred back to Marianjoy. Ralph and Sue face many months of arduous rehabilitation and significant ongoing expensive medical care. They have emptied their bank accounts and savings. Their immediate prospects are dire just to pay their normal household living expenses, let alone the significant fast-growing medical expenses. Please consider a donation to help these nice people and give them some much-needed hope.
