Stand by Pete

I have been battling Cancer for 4 and a half years, beginning with gall bladder and liver cancer in 2014.  My first surgery was the removal of my gall bladder, followed by a second to remove 15% of my liver.  A year of  Chemotherapy  treatments followed these surgeries.  Shortly thereafter numerous tumors were discovered in my lungs.  My biopsy results  was that it  was  Melanoma.  I was given Chemotherapy  again for about a year and a half, and after 10 months of being treatment free, I thought I was good to go.  But two more tumors, one by my Pancreas and one by my Iliac artery were discovered and needed to be removed.   I had another surgery, followed by a long and painful recovery and  Chemotherapy once again!  Now after my routine Pet scan, there are an additional three tumors.   My biopsy has revealed that the Cancer had mutated and has advanced to Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.  My only option now is a drug trial at Sloan Kettering in NY City.  I have been given a year to live if I do not participate in this trial.  I  still have 3 teenage kids at home, two of whom have medical issues that need constant attention.   An Autistic son, and a daughter,  born with Cancer, that is partially  deaf from her Chemotherapy.  It has become very apparent after just a few trips to NY city, that participating in this drug trial is  placing a heavy burden on my family.  Depending on the treatment week, my stays in the city last from 1-3 days.  I incur not only the medical expenses but additional costs for transportation,  hotel, and meals.  It will be impossible to continue  without your help.   Becoming ill is one thing but I need these treatment so I can be around a few more years to help my wife with my children and their needs.  I greatly appreciate any donation you are able to make.
