When someone you care about is facing a tough time, you want to do something to help.
Our dear friend Peggy (Ems) Coates has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive and devastating forms of cancer. On top of that, she was recently hospitalized with sepsis, leaving her incredibly weak and too sick to begin chemotherapy.
Right now, the focus is on getting her strong enough to start treatment. But as you can imagine, the emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming.
While Peggy is someone who has always been strong, independent, hardworking, and generous to others, asking for help does not come easy. That is exactly why her friends are stepping in on her behalf.
To make it even harder, Peg is far away from many of those who love her, but distance does not stop love, and it certainly will not stop us from supporting her.
This is not a handout — it is a hand up. It is a way for friends, family, and community to show Peggy and her family that they are not in this alone. It is about easing the burden.
We have created a fundraiser to help cover medical expenses and other essential costs. If you can give, thank you sincerely. If you cannot, your prayers, well wishes, cards, and simply sharing this post would mean the world.
❤️ Let us rally around our dear friend Peggy and her family and remind them how deeply we love them — near or far.
