Stand by Our Veterans and Their Companions

How heartbreaking is it to see the very citizens who fought for our freedom and safety living on the streets, begging for their next meal or sip of water?
Many are disabled veterans, struggling with the aftermath of service: mental, physical, and financial hardships that leave them without a place to call home.
With no one else to turn to, some find companionship in stray animals — forming bonds built on mutual survival. But while a dog may be a man's best friend, they too go days without food or water.
Our disabled veterans deserve better. They lack access to the vital resources needed for a safe, stable, and dignified life.
It shouldn’t be this hard for those who gave so much.
But WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
According to Disabled American Veterans, "It is estimated that almost 6% of Americans will have PTSD at some time during their lives. Veterans’ risk of developing PTSD, however, is approximately doubled for all service eras and may be even greater over a lifetime" (Depression, n.d.).
Meet James and Roxy.
James is a Marine Corps veteran who struggled for years with PTSD after returning home from active duty. Crowded places triggered his anxiety, and nightmares left him sleep-deprived and isolated.
That all changed when he was matched with Roxy, a trained service dog.
Roxy senses James’s anxiety before it escalates, gently nudges him out of flashbacks, and even wakes him from night terrors. For the first time in years, James feels safe enough to go out in public — and even volunteer in his community.
"She saved my life," James says. “I went from surviving… to living.”
Together, we can bring hope, healing, and a sense of home to the heroes who need it most.
Every veteran deserves to come home — to a HOME.
