Stand by Nancy and Michael: Urgent Care Support

Help Support Nancy Mauldin Kennedy Coon and Her Husband, Michael.

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I am reaching out on behalf of Nancy Mauldin Kennedy Coon and her devoted husband, Michael Coon, during an incredibly difficult time in their lives.

Nancy, a loving wife, cherished friend, and extraordinary woman, is currently in hospice memory care. As anyone who has faced this heartbreaking situation knows, the emotional toll is overwhelming, and the financial burden is just as crushing. Michael has been doing everything he can to provide Nancy with the care she deserves, but the cost of her care has now reached $8,000 per month, rapidly exhausting his resources. Making matters worse, the recent tariffs have gutted Michael's ability to pay for Nancy's care. Their retirement savings and tiny stock portfolio have been impacted by a good bit more than 25%, reducing the cash Michael can draw on to cover Nancy's nursing expenses. The timing of these actions, just when they needed the funds, has really hurt them.

According to Michael's and Nancy's social worker in the hospice care she is part of, the word is that Medicaid approval, right now, may come after 12-18 months, and this will be too late.

We are asking for your help to ease some of the financial weight that has fallen entirely on Michael’s shoulders. Our immediate goal is to raise $24,000 to cover three months of Nancy's care, and any additional support will go toward defraying the substantial expenses Michael has already covered out of pocket.
