This past year has been the most difficult of Mila’s life. She has had mutiple growths and cysts pop up and had already had precancerous growths removed from 2 areas. A third nodule appeared in her thyroid. With this, she received the news that the nodule has a 90% chance of thyroid cancer. The option here is a thyroid lobe removal to confirm the cancer, and hope it’s curative.
The funds would go toward’s Mila’s surgery with insurance is: $4000-$5000. And additional funds would help her with additional follow ups for her thyroid surgery, if another surgery is needed, and for her rheumatologic symptoms.
She will have to deal with a new normal, as she is already soldiering through her body’s issues.
Her system has been off- and she will continue medical discovery as she has been told about two autoimmune conditions and experienced swellings in all joints full body pains, cramps, nerve issues. She is currently being treated for two autoimmune conditions with medications. With no idea as to the root cause and why. She is hoping to find a doctor to get the root cause, as her body seems to be working against her.
Please help her with the funds for the thyroid surgery and hopefully it’s not cancer or it’s curative. Let’s take off the 90% chance of cancer off the table.
She has done it alone the past year as new growths and new immobilizing symptoms have occurred. She wants to get back to working and working out when she can. But the “feel good” days are becoming more unpredictable. She is a strong woman who is in love with the gym, with her friends.
Don’t make her keep going through these days alone.
Help this her get back to a normal life or new normal. Anything helps.

I (Sascha) met Mila in 7th grade while we were attending La Reina High School, and we reconnected in adulthood to become best friends that support each other through life events. As only children, we both have small families and limited support systems in the area, so our friendship really made a huge difference for me, and I am grateful to have her in my life like a sister. Mila has always been creative, unique, bold, and unapologetically herself. Her passion for helping and understanding others is inspiring, and she's always cared deeply about the people that enter her life. We were personal trainers together at one point at Gold's Gym, and she was dedicated to making sure her clients were successful and reached their goals. Her dream is to become a social worker and impact people's lives in a positive way.
Jenna here! To echo what Sascha shared, Mila is incredibly dear to me — she’s more than a friend, she’s family. We’ve all known each other since middle school, and in recent years, our bond has only grown stronger. I want nothing more than to see Mila healing, thriving, and beginning to feel like herself again.
Our hope with this fundraiser is to ease the burden of her medical expenses, so she can focus fully on her recovery without the added stress. Mila has always shown up for Sascha, for me, and for so many others — offering love, care, and a deep sense of presence that makes people feel truly seen.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for her. We want to give back even a fraction of the warmth and support she’s given so freely. Any amount helps, and every act of kindness will make a difference in her journey forward.
If you are able to donate, all funds will go towards medical expenses and filling the financial gap caused by missing work for doctor's appointments, future surgery, and personal limitations caused by health issues. Anything helps!
