Stand by Mike: Recovery from Brain Surgery and Cancer

If you know my dad, you know he’s incredibly proud and would never ask for help himself, so I’m doing it for him.

The past couple of years have been anything but easy. One mistake cost him his career, but he’s spent every day since working hard to rebuild his life, and make things right. Just as he was finding his footing again, life threw him a major curveball.

On July 8th, he woke up with symptoms of a stroke. A CT scan revealed a brain bleed and a mass that was later diagnosed as metastatic melanoma. He’s since undergone major brain surgery and has a long road ahead with treatments and physical therapy to regain movement and function.

Without health insurance, the financial burden is overwhelming. I’m starting this GoFundMe to help relieve some of that stress and support him through this time. Any help, no matter how small, means the world.
