Stand by Melissa for a Safer Future and safer home.

So I hate to do this, but I need to figure out some stuff to help my wife, Melissa. In the past 3 weeks, she has pretty much lost the use of her legs. She is using a walker just to go to the bathroom, and even that is a major struggle. Melissa is pretty much stuck in bed due to the pain and will need a wheelchair soon.

We also found out her CRPS is not allowing her stomach to digest food properly. We have started a liquid and pureed food diet to help get her proper nutrition.

Unfortunately, we're looking to raise money by selling things and looking into a fundraiser. To raise some funds for a new place to live, one that is more handicap accessible.

I'm looking for ideas for fundraising or assistance to put one on. I have reached out to some businesses and friends.

As for our current house, we are having a major issue going on. We're currently fighting with homeowners insurance about covering the damages. What happened was the main hot water line burst coming from the hot water tank feeding the whole house.

We got the leak fixed, but there is water damage and mold throughout the back half of the house. When the insurance company sent a specialist out the day of my surgery, Melissa was told there is more than 10 sqft of mold and it is unsafe to stay here. And now they are saying it is not covered, and I escalated it. It will be at least another 2 weeks before a structural engineer will come out to do a report.

To me, she is more important than anything I own. Stuff can be replaced, but she cannot. I'm trying to do everything I can to figure out things.
