Hello friends,

I'm Melanie Thomas and I need your help.

I was just diagnosed with a colon condition which is very serious. I have growths on my colon wall.

I've been very sick for a long time but didn't know what was wrong with me. I have taken a medical leave and am no longer able to work as I go through treatments.

I am a single mom of two teenagers and have no financial support—I never received alimony or child support.

I had a great career in public relations and thought I could take care of my family on my own. I never thought I would get so sick that I wouldn't be able to work and provide for us.

Now, I am bedridden, in incredible pain, and not able to leave the house except to go to the store for food, which I can't even keep down due to my colon issues.

I have no money for food or bills and I'm terrified.

I'm embarrassed to ask for help but I'm desperate.

Would you please help me to survive this with any help you could spare?

Any support you could share will go a long way to help me survive my treatment and life right now.

I believe I've been a good friend and member of my work and DC communities. Now I need your help, please.
