Has anyone ever made you laugh so hard, you felt the air escape the room? Better yet - can you imagine your worst day, and your friend or loved one is so full of love and support, that your troubles are put on ice temporarily? Meet our Lucy Treadwell.
Lucy's endless jokes, pranks, puns, and endless fun are her trade. She is the Gordon Ramsay of comedy. Despite her feet swelling, she still manages to wear her pink unicorn costume on occasion! She eagerly awaits people's reactions as she sits on a park bench next to a person or walks next to an unsuspecting victim, for example. Lucy says when she feels better, she would love to volunteer at a nursing home, donning her pink inflatable scales, greeting residents. No doubt would she make a difference in how they're entertained!
On a serious note, Lucy was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2022. She was originally given the worst prognosis. She was admitted into both the intensive and critical care units, where she was surrounded by family, where family came to offer goodbyes. She was on her death bed. By the grace of God, she left the hospital.
Although her doctors are fighting to keep Lucy's health stable, she needs a liver transplant. She is currently not on a transplant list. However, her doctors believe she is close to being on the list. Good news - Lucy may be a candidate for a partial liver transplant.
In the event (fingers crossed and prayers gone out!!!) that Lucy does get a transplant, she and her family must be ready in a moment's notice to travel to Duke Hospital. We are asking for $8,000 to cover expenses to help with Lucy's extended medical stay. This will provide the family's food, lodging, gas, bills, and other expenses accrued during and after their trip. This money will also go towards rehabilitative furniture when she returns home. Any and every penny counts!
Due to edema from cirrhosis, Lucy can only wear medical braces on her feet. The pain is excruciating. You can help our funny, heroic friend today! Be a hero.
Thank you!
