Support Lisa's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer
Our mom, Lisa, has been a great help to anyone in her life, especially to her kids. She always goes through the hard times with a smile on her face and knows how to make you laugh. She is also everyone's therapist since she works in HR (lol). She is always there to lend a helping hand no matter what, brighten someone's day, and offer unconditional love to everyone around her. It's our turn to show her the same support.
Starting in May of 2024, our mom had encountered pains in her stomach that had her end up in the hospital. This began a journey with pancreatitis throughout the rest of the summer. She was hospitalized 3 times for it, including a procedure to put a stent in her bile duct, which was only a temporary fix unfortunately.
In October, she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Our grandmother passed away from this aggressive form of cancer in 2019, at Stage 4. So, as you can imagine, our family didn't want to relive that time of our lives. Fortunately, they found it soon enough and there was hope to treat it with surgery and chemotherapy. So far, she has had 6 treatments and will be undergoing the Whipple Procedure on March 11th. She will be out of work for a period of time to hopefully cure her of this horrible disease.
This has had an impact on her life in many ways, both physically and emotionally.
A lot of people have been asking how to help in a time like this. We really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult time in our family. With our mom being out of work for a period of time and doing additional treatments after surgery, she will need help covering expenses due to being a single-based household income. Any donations will make a difference whether if it's for medical expenses/expenses not covered by insurance or just easing the burden for day-to-day costs.
Please continue to send your prayers and positive thoughts. Thank you all so much!
