Hello, friends!
***Updated Feb 2026***
For the last 4 years Kevin has been dealing with blood clots from an undiagnosed cause. The cause was Antiphospholipid syndrome, and it requires a treatment different than what is normally given for blood clots, which led to the clots actually getting worse over time. Thanks to your support and the Medicaid program that will soon be senselessly losing $1 TRILLION in funding from the Republican-backed Big Beautiful Bill at the end of the year, Kevin was able to get life changing surgery.
Through your help, as well as several programs I have qualified for, I have made it far, however, I have not fully recovered from surgery, and have had a series of unfortunate events that have led to me needing a follow up surgery in February, which I just had. Surprise medical expenses and travel expenses keep shifting my financial stability to be just out of reach. If you are able to help at all, it won’t take too much to keep me able to focus on recovery.
I have been very optimistic about my prospects, and what the future holds for me, and I really want to share the joy and advocate for healthcare for all as I recover. Realistically, I still have a few months left of recovery, but I am currently at a functional level. I took the trash out last week and that was a huge victory for where I am at.
Thank you for everything you all have given and shared with me. Getting better and recovering was a choice I had to make, and it was honestly difficult with so much gloom around us. Because of your love and support I have been able to shift my mindset and choose to fight. I am determined to be good news, and I hope to share that with you all.
with so much love,
Kevin

Our beloved Kevin O’Connor was taken to the hospital last weekend in an emergency involving blood clots to his lungs. In his words “I knew if I fell asleep instead of going to the hospital, I wouldn’t wake up”
He was diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms last month, a potentially lethal condition of blood clotting in the lungs, and his treatment simply didn’t work. He is currently in the hospital undergoing tests to find out why the treatment failed, and his new treatment likely will not be covered by his Medicaid.
He is in stable condition, but very scared. He is currently having his lungs and heart constantly monitored and will likely be in the hospital a while longer. We would love to show him love through funding to take a large amount of stress off of him in this scary time, and allow him to focus on his long road of recovery.
Thank you for any donations or simply for well wishes. Kevin is grateful for you all. If you have his information, he said it is okay to contact him, but he is “grumpy”.
