Hello! My name is Victoria Akers, and knowing me means knowing my dad, Kevin Akers. My dad is truly the hardest worker I know. His work ethic has amazed me my whole life, along with his selflessness, humor, and servant’s heart. He’s never asked anything from anybody, but continued to give despite the times he didn’t have much himself.

Recently, my dad got some pretty bad news regarding his health. The C-word nobody ever wants to hear. We’ve already been through months of tests, scans, biopsies, etc., and that has already put a damper on the hours he can work. With chemo and radiation starting soon, he will have to navigate when he is able to work, but the hours still won’t add up to what they did pre-diagnosis. Being stage 3, with such a harsh treatment, doctors are predicting that by the end of it he won’t be able to work much - if at all. He will have to do seven weeks of radiation Monday-Friday, as well as chemo once weekly. This is making it hard for him financially to get by, with monthly bills, traveling for appointments, time off for appointments/treatment, medical costs, and also because he will physically need time off during treatment.

I know he would never ask, but I am asking, if you find it in your heart, could you please consider helping my absolute best friend make it through this hard time. Anything helps and is appreciated, even just a share, and definitely prayers! We have a fight ahead, but it’s not one we can’t win.
