Kathy and I met about 20 years ago in when we were both living in Brookings, SD. We have been friends since.

In June 2024, Kathy was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Leiomyosarcoma.

She has undergone surgeries and numerous procedures. Her last hospital stay was in April 2025. She was there for about 2 weeks. She is now on a clear liquid diet as the cancer is affecting her intestines. She was able to go home in late April/early May on Home Hospice. They come in about once a week to check in on her.

Kathy's husband, Yuki, has stood by her side. He checks in with her to make sure she is drinking enough.

After 1 year of this intense cancer battle, the bills have piled up. Kathy had to quit her job and so they rely solely on Yuki's income. Insurance only covers so much.

I believe any amount donated to help this couple combat bills and other expenses will help them focus more on the time they have together. Kathy and Yuki also ask for lots of prayers.
