Hello, I'm Julie Guerrero and I'm here to tell you about my daughter's diagnosis of colorectal cancer at the young age of 27. She was diagnosed on April 19th, 2025, after having been seen for probable endometriosis. An MRI was ordered and revealed a stage 3 tumor in her rectum that needed immediate attention. Everything happened so fast. Many tests were performed: many MRI tests, CT tests, genetic testing, any tests that you could think of. Then it was time for a plan. But the doctors considered treatment and said her reproductive organs are in the way of radiation. So she has already had one surgery to temporarily remove her uterus, cervix, and ovaries to her upper abdomen area out of harm's way until treatments are over. Then, after being cancer-free, they will be repositioned. She starts radiation on June 30th, followed by chemotherapy for 4 months. Then a possible surgery if the cancer is not eradicated. The surgery consists of removing the cancerous tumor and lymph nodes and leaving her with a temporary ostomy bag. She will be out of work for the rest of the year and part of 2026. I am asking for donations to fund her bills, groceries, medical bills, gasoline to and from appointments (which are 5 days a week for 6 weeks in Durham), rent, etc. We really appreciate any help we receive; we just want her cancer-free and healthy again.
