From Grace Rooney & Lu Cousins: On behalf of Joyce Myers and her husband Bruce (who everyone calls Ski), we are humbled to organize this fundraiser.

Ski suffered a massive stroke at the train station in Chicago on June 26th while en route to a week-long vacation. Within minutes of the stroke, he was treated and brought to Rush Medical Center, where he remained for a month, while Joyce stayed at a hotel to monitor his condition and care.

It was a miracle that Ski was able to be taken for medical care within minutes of him going into a complete coma. He was twice given an anointing, and family were advised to travel to Chicago. Rush Medical Center was able to save Ski’s life, and medical transport was arranged to bring him back to Virginia for further care.

He is currently in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia and has a long, hard journey ahead of him due to his extensive medical issues caused by the stroke.

Joyce has been with him every minute and has incurred extraordinary expenses, as well as loss of income. If you can, we ask that you help this phenomenal couple with whatever large or tiny amount you are able to donate. Every dollar makes a difference. She also has asked for prayers for recovery. Since Ski is a Navy veteran, they have ALWAYS answered every call for every organization of which they belong and have taken on EVERY project with kindness and enthusiasm.
