Stand by JJ: From ICU to New Beginnings

This go fund me is to help myself and my single mother household survive after a wrong place at the wrong time situation left my oldest, JJ, in the ICU due to a gun shot wound to his face. He suffered a major ischemic stroke from loss of blood. Josh was a hard working young man; he is strong, funny, loving; his care for others is actually what led him to be in this situation. He is a Tokay high school grad and varsity wrestler who was just starting his life as an adult. Now that JJ has been released from the hospital, the healing starts! In order for JJ to get the proper care he needs, other necessities have had to be put on hold. We all know when tragedy hits, life keeps going… Disability has taken months with zero communication from them, and we are now at a point of me having to create this (I’ve avoided it as long as I could) and hope we can make rent, pay utilities and make credit card payments we have been living off of. Please, please, please, if you have it to give, you’d be helping us a ton. I am navigating being a caregiver, legal/medical advocate and most importantly a mother navigating my son’s new state of living with limited mobility and emotional trauma.

Josh is also an expecting father in August. So, that is something I know is burdening his provider mentality and I hope to provide as much as I possibly can for that child.

We are looking at a solid year of therapy and continued surgeries.
