Stand by Jayden in His Cancer Battle

This is Jayden. He is 19 years old and battling cancer for his second time. This time there isn’t a cure for Jayden. Please read Jayden’s story for there is no other like it.

Jayden was born on June 4th 2006. It was the greatest birthday gift I could ever ask for as my birthday is also on June 4th. When he was born, he was born with a rectal tag. The doctors monitored it, but when he was 18 months old, it had grown enough in which it was affecting him pretty badly. We scheduled surgery to have it removed. Once the biopsy was completed, the surgeon had called me when I was at work and gave me the bad news. I will never forget that day. I fell to the floor, crying uncontrollably. No not my son!! How could he have cancer??Jayden was diagnosed with the rarest form of cancer known to man called perianal Rhabdomyosarcoma. There were less than 88 cases in the world ever. We had some doctors tell us he was not going to make it. There was one Doctor who promised us he was going to do everything he could to save his life. Jayden went through 48 weeks of 3 different chemo drugs, 26 sessions of radiation and 23 surgeries before he was 3 years old! The torture and hell this child went through still haunts me. I will spare you all from the details, but his complete story can be found via our Facebook pages. He was 3 1/2 years old and we were told he was in remission. We would get scans every three months. Then it turned into every six months. Then it turned into every year and eventually at the 10 year mark it was not necessary any longer. My wife and I were told Jayden would probably not be able to do normal things like regular kids when it came to sports, running and other activities. Well, as a father and a longtime wrestler and sports athlete, I began training him in wrestling immediately. He ended up winning two state championships in wrestling in the state of Ohio, which is not easy to do. He was able to defy all the odds again. Jayden has lived and attended school in West Chester Ohio for most of his life. Attending schools in both Lakota East and West. Fast forward to his junior year in HS. He began losing weight rather quickly and complaining about lots of pain in his groin area. On October 31st after an X-ray we found out cancer had returned. It was not until the next day that we found out it was stage 4 Chronoblastic Radiation Induced Osteosarcoma. There was less than a 0.04% chance of this happening and sadly the radiation that saved his life the first time is what caused this cancer. This time however there is no cure. On January 5th of 2024, he underwent a hemi-pelvectomy. This means he had to have half of his pelvis cut out and removed due to the tumor. We were able to find a surgeon that was confident he could resect the margins and give him a 3D printed pelvis from Ireland. The surgery was completed, but we ran into numerous issues and problems and ended up staying in the hospital for nearly a month. After extensive therapy and hard work, Jayden was able to walk again with the assistance of a walker and a cane. Eventually, he was able to walk without any help. He was able to go back to work and even drive. Sadly on June 7, 2025, his leg began to swell again and nothing would stop the swelling. After scans, we found an uptick on the scans, we found an uptick not only in his leg, but in his lung from the metastasis. He has started chemo and radiation again but there are not many options left. I am just a brokenhearted father doing everything I can to find a cure. Trying to juggle all of the bills that we have and everything else to do with our family after shutting down my business for a year I had to go back to work. Unfortunately, I will be shutting it back down for I need to focus my attention towards his care and trying to give him everything he could ever want while doing everything I can to find a cure. On May 10, 2026 my wife flew all the way to California on Mother’s Day to present Jayden‘s case for this possible treatment(DeltaRex-G) we may have to make plans to move to California temporarily. We may need to raise a ton of money to pay for the treatment and all of the costs associated with it. We thank everyone for their support and generosity. All of the funds previously accrued have been given to Jayden to use and spend as he wished. Since Jayden is mostly confined to the bed, he uses funds a lot for his video games and to purchase sports and trading cards. He loves to open them. We absolutely hate asking anybody for help but we thank you also very much! Anything is appreciated and will be used on him or for him. In attempt to get funding for experimental drugs we want to let everyone know that if Jayden is unable to access the drugs/trials that all funds will be used to support Jaydens battle and any extra funds will be donated to pediatric cancer research.

He loves to open up sports cards and loves music. You can find our TikTok page here:

My mother always told me it takes a village. Honestly my pride prevents me from asking for help, but my wife and I’s backs are up against a wall. We are so thankful for everyone who has supported us during this journey. Words can never express our gratitude for everything people have done for us. May God bless you all!
