On June 17, 2025, Janie was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a condition where her immune system is attacking her bone marrow, causing it to stop producing blood cells. Janie has been admitted to the ER many times over the last couple of months to receive blood and platelet transfusions. On July 15, 2025, Janie was admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital for 13 days, where she received the ATG treatment to suppress her immune system and kick it back into production. So far, it looks like the ATG treatment is working!

Through all of this, Janie has been an inspiration—her positive attitude and incredible sense of humor have never wavered, even in the toughest moments. She continues to uplift those around her with grace, laughter, and strength.
