Update (September 2025):

Steven’s recovery has been a long and difficult road. While his physical strength is slowly returning, the process has taken much longer than expected. Since his transplant, Steven has been in and out of the hospital with several post-transplant complications. He is currently hospitalized again due to an infection, another setback that has delayed his return to work and created tremendous financial hardship for our family.

On top of Steven’s medical challenges, in February a storm caused a tree to crash into our bathroom, forcing us to take on unexpected repair costs. Our home remains unfinished, the bills keep piling up, and I now fear mold may be setting in, putting all of our health at further risk.

I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am for the generosity and kindness we’ve already received. It is only with your support that we’ve made it this far. With humility, I am once again asking for help from our community as we do everything we can to keep our family afloat during this very difficult time.

Thank you for surrounding us with love and care. Your support has carried us farther than we could have managed alone.

With deep appreciation,
Janice & Aurora

Update: Steven’s Miracle and the Long Road Ahead

As some of you may know, my husband, Steven Zaytoun, was incredibly sick and in dire need of a liver transplant. My family and I are overjoyed to share that we received a miracle—against all odds Steven underwent a liver transplant at the turn of the New Year! We are all incredibly grateful for this truly unbelievable gift.

Though we are blessed, my husband still has an extremely long and medically risky road ahead. In addition to potential future complications such as liver rejection, his prolonged hospital stay has left him in a very weak and vulnerable state, necessitating months of intensive inpatient physical rehabilitation. As we navigate this challenging path, our family continues to face significant financial strain and stress from the ongoing costs of medical care, prescriptions, rehabilitation, and the lengthy and unforeseeable loss of our primary breadwinner.

As we begin to face this next chapter, we humbly ask for your support. Whether it’s through a donation, a prayer, or sharing our story with others, every contribution helps us move forward.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing by us. We will forever be grateful for your love, compassion, and generosity.

With love and gratitude,
Janice and Aurora

Help Janice and Aurora Support Steven’s Fight for His Life

Hello, my name is Janice Zaytoun, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking a moment to hear our story.

My husband, Steven, has been in the ICU for over eight weeks, fighting for his life in critical condition. What began as a routine surgery for a heart valve replacement has turned into a nightmare we never could have imagined. Shortly after the surgery, Steven’s liver began to fail, and we were blindsided by how quickly his condition deteriorated.

Steven’s health challenges began as a baby, when he underwent surgery for twisted intestines that required a blood transfusion. Tragically, during that transfusion, Steven contracted Hepatitis C, since blood screening wasn’t as advanced then as it is today. Over the years, this led to a cascade of health complications, including diabetes and now severe liver failure.

Despite his challenges, Steven has always been committed to living a healthy lifestyle. He eats right, doesn’t drink alcohol, and stays on top of his medical care to monitor his liver. He’s done everything in his power to fight against these odds, but now we are facing his toughest battle yet: he needs a liver transplant to survive.

To complicate matters, Steven has a rare blood type, which may make finding a matching liver donor take even longer. As we wait and pray for that miracle, the medical bills are mounting, and our family is struggling without any income.

Steven is more than just a husband—he’s my partner, my rock, and a loving father to our daughter, Aurora. Since I have my own health issues, he has always supported us as the sole provider. Now it’s our turn to support him.

We are humbly asking for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Steven’s mounting medical bills and our household expenses.

If you’re unable to donate, we would be so grateful if you could share our story with your friends, family, and community. Your kindness and support mean the world to us as we face this unimaginable challenge.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity, prayers, and for helping us hold onto hope during this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude,
Janice and Aurora
