Fidel Avila, a dedicated landscape technician of many years, suffered a medical emergency in December leaving him unable to work for several months and continuing to face considerable medical expenses. Fidel quietly but constantly brightens the community around him, and now the community has an opportunity to return that gift with support. While he is not someone to ask for help, we have organized this fundraiser to offer critical funds to cover his medical bills and day to day expenses while he cannot work. Together, we can show Fidel and his family that they are not alone.

Those who’ve met Fidel know his ready smile and warm hello. They see his hard work, reliability, and genuine gratitude to work in our community. And many who’ve not met Fidel have still felt the impact of his dedication. The carefully tended grounds and flowering trees we enjoy are the result of his care.

Now, though, it’s Fidel who needs our care. After experiencing bad headaches for several days, he was diagnosed with multiple mini strokes. He is continuing to receive treatment, and until he has recovered, his doctor has told him he is unable to work. This has been overwhelming for Fidel and his family. The weight of it all is not just emotional, but financial.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Fidel to help with ongoing medical expenses and covering day-to-day costs.
