This is Faz. He’s 25 years old — calm, kind, always smiling, and known for lending a hand to anyone in need. Faz is a friend to many and a light in his community. Sadly, Faz is now facing the toughest challenge of his life.

Without warning, Faz was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) — a rare and serious neurological disorder where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nervous system. If you're thinking, “What the heck is Guillain-Barré?” — you're not alone. It's pronounced “gee-YAHN bar-RAY”, and it can cause muscle weakness, numbness, and in severe cases, complete paralysis.

Sadly, Faz is one of the severe cases.

For the past nine weeks (and counting), Faz has been paralyzed from the neck down. While some GBS patients recover quickly, Faz’s journey is proving to be long and uncertain. He’s currently hospitalized full-time and unable to work — a devastating change for someone so young and full of life.

Imagine waking up one day, unable to move, with no timeline for recovery. It’s a sobering reality that Faz, his family, and his friends are now facing. His parents, brother, and sister are by his side around the clock, doing everything they can to support his care and hold onto hope.

But love alone can’t cover the costs.

Faz still has living expenses, car payments, insurance, and everyday expenses, all piling up while he focuses on healing. And looking ahead, his road to recovery will include intensive rehabilitation, mobility support, and ongoing medical care — all of which come at a significant cost.
