There are no words to fully describe what Faith has been through since her first major diagnosis in 2008. Her family wants to surprise her and invite everyone to rally together and help with her continuous battle. From her diagnosis of scleroderma to cancer to heart failure, she has fought it all. Despite all of her diagnoses, she continues to put others before herself, and her family wants to help return the favor.

Among her major diagnoses, she has fought smaller health issues along the way, such as going to the hospital for symptoms from one disease and coming out diagnosed with three new ones. Her health battle has resulted in endless and ongoing hospital stays, tests, scans, new meds, etc., all of which have piled on more and more medical bills. One of her most recent major diagnoses was a rare form of leukemia. During a month-long stay in the hospital, it brought on roughly:

- 86 rounds of IV chemo

- 662 chemo pills swallowed

- 78 electrocardiograms

- 78 lab draws

- 53+ lbs lost

- head of hair lost

- 10 days of Influenza A

Following a January hospital stay, Faith posted this update to friends and family which included…

- Draining tube placed to drain a large amount of fluid off the lining of the heart. Drain left in for 4 days

- Multiple echocardiograms

- Straight cath because I couldn't tinkle!

- Tube/camera inserted into nose to look at vocal cords. One is paralyzed. My voice has been just a whisper since Thanksgiving. Being referred to Speech Pathology and ENT for possible Botox injection into vocal cord. (was completed on 3/10)

- Video swallow to watch for aspiration (been happening with fluids) and to diagnose any swallowing issues

- Cardiac catheterization to determine pressures in the artery that passes into the lungs from the heart.

- Learned that I have severe high pressures in the artery that runs between the heart and lungs. That is called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, which is the leading cause of death for scleroderma patients.
