It saddens me to make this post for my baby brother, Eric Perez. He is a hardworking guy who loves his family and would do anything for them. He’s been battling with Polycystic Kidney Disease and overall Chronic Kidney Disease for a while, which comes with all kinds of other issues. Most everyone is born with 100% kidney function and stays around 90% their entire lives. Over the past year, he went from 23% kidney function to a low 13%. Math is math, so you can kind of figure potential timelines. This is a genetic disorder. He has a large, beautiful family and won’t give up trying to stay with them as long as he can! He has a beautiful wife, six amazing daughters, and my one and only son. He is not one to ask for help, but he is in dire need of a kidney transplant. He has been put on the transplant list, but it’s a 5-8 year wait from a deceased donor. Time frame from a living donor can be a very quick turnaround. If you or anyone you know is healthy enough to donate, please let us know. We have a link! There’s a lot that goes into finding the right match. I know it’s something not everyone can do or is willing to do. Once he is at 10% function, he will start dialysis, and that’s an unknown for him. Unknown how soon, when it will happen, or if it will affect his career and family financially. Transplants are expensive, and he is trying to seek out all help that is available. I am creating this GoFundMe for medical bills, if interested in donating that way. A kidney donor is all he’s really looking for, but before dialysis would be ideal.
